Fried Plantains with Garlic Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tsp. Knorr® Chicken flavor Bouillon
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 3 green plantains, sliced 1-in. thick

Directions

  1. To make sauce, process Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic, cilantro and Knorr® Chicken flavor Bouillon in food processor; transfer to small bowl and set aside.
  2. Heat about 1 cup oil in large deep skillet and fry plantains, turning occasionally, until light golden, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Flatten plantains to 1/3-inch thick using plate or tostonera.
  3. Heat oil and fry plantains again until crisp, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Serve with sauce.
